@Velaski 's fix does work, his is more longtime, and will mean that the badge doesnt work for any rank, however the reason it wont have worked for you, is because you have to edit the file in VS, and then F5 it (I forgot what its called xD)

Or, in game you can do the command ':forced_effects 0' and this will disable it for yourself.
