I'm sure somewhere in your furnitures table, you could change the "actual" effect the patch gives to the user who interacts to it. Haven't been in retros for a while so I'm not sure if it's the right table.
Have you tried clearing your own SSO ticket, logging out then logging in again to the CMS and back to the client? This might give your user a new SSO ticket and the client would work.
