Have you tried reducing ranks and see if there's an actual limit as to how many ranks the emu can handle?

I believe you could try changing any other hotel names on your .txt files, not quite sure though but it won't hurt to try.

I'm sure somewhere in your furnitures table, you could change the "actual" effect the patch gives to the user who interacts to it. Haven't been in retros for a while so I'm not sure if it's the right table.
