I learned from @Wess post about getting things off your chest sometimes helps you. So I decided I am gonna give it a try. So here it goes.

So I have never told anyone I been dealing with depression since October of last year. Life was going great but it kind of just hit me. Within 6 months I had gain over 100 pounds (only weighed 154 before this). I felt ashamed and embarrassed and so I got a private teacher. I tried committing suicide 2 times since October because of depression. So recently within the last 3 months I decided to actually ask my parents to help me get the help I need because I wanted it. I did a 35 day treatment that help me get through the pain I was feeling. So my point is if you feel broken you can always get help. I learned that hiding my emotions isn't the best thing to do in life and can lead to bad things. So I suggest go get help if you feel broken immediately and if feel as though you want to commit suicide call the suicide prevention hotline.

Hotline: 1-800-273-8255 (If you haven't noticed this isn't talked about much in mainstream media but it is happening and getting worst.)

It's important men aren't told to 'man up' instead ask for help.

It's so hard to basically do anything if you're constantly feeling down and depressed, feeling like nobody cares about you even though there's a lot that do. One of the biggest confidence boosters is working out and being healthy, this also makes you feel better naturally and you would start to lose the weight you gained. Although not easy, you could start this alone in your bedroom, cutting out junk food and eating at the right times.

Start to create daily goals for yourself, even if it's something simple everybody needs a goal. First things first, open your curtains, make your bed and open your window. You can't start to set goals if you can't make your bed in the morning.

Men suicide is one of the biggest factors in men aged 16-40, it's real and you're not alone.

I really appreciate your thought on this. I recently got a gym membership to my local Cross fit. And your advice on setting goals is a good idea your the first one to ever say that me.

im just saying why tell it to people who probably dont even care and dont know you?
The thread states why he's written it. He says it's just a way to get it out because that can help. He's not asking for help/advice for us as further down it states that he got some help. Please read the thread before starting pointless arguements.

Anyways, I'm glad you were able to come out and ask someone for help, it's definitely not an easy thing to do! Hopefully you'll remain on task and get better

It’s also a lot easier talking to people you don’t know, just like help lines etc.

Besides, if you read the thread you wouldn’t of needed to comment.

To start off, I'm really happy I somehow got you across the line to post this. I think @JMG nailed the comment. There's just one thing I want to add, out of my own experience. Depression sucks. It sucks hard, and there's not much that can be done about it. Hell, most of the time the people close to you won't even notice because you put a mask on all of the time. It's just sort of second nature. But never forget there are so much people who do care. I don't even know you, but it would sicken me to know if you would have taken your own life. To everyone with a depression, please do reach out. Don't isolate yourself. I want to add more to this, but I can't really come up with the words at this time.

I swear to God, FUCK OFF. You're such a sickening person. Normally you just annoy me, but now I'm actually starting to get pissed off. Even though this is his story of already going through it (learn to fucking read), even if it wasn't, opening up to total strangers is a huge step forward. Most of the time, people with a depression don't even acknowledge the fact they have one. Don't speak for DevBest, speak for yourself, you ignorant fucking twisted shitposter. Out of my own experience, forums and stuff like that are often giving people with depression A LOT of help. And I'm a part of DevBest, and if he needed help, I'd help him as much as I would be able to do.

im just saying why tell it to people who probably dont even care and dont know you?
He's raising awareness. For all you know @Canadian might be depressed, you wouldn't know, because you just see what he posts on the internet. This thread might get him over the line to search help. Just as an example.

sorry man if u dont understand why im commenting but its freedom of speech. whenever u post something on a public forum and its a public thread people can disagree or provide criticism ;P
Yeah well here's my freedom of speech: fuck off. Really. I'm not kidding. I highly advice you to go out and live life, and if you've experienced enough, I hope you've become wise enough to leave childish comments like these of the internet.

I don’t feel like I want to kill myself, but I always feel like being dead would be much easier lol, like as if to say I don’t fear death. I don’t care if I do die? If that makes sense.

I prefer to just laugh about shit and make stupid jokes personally

I'm glad you feel comfortable enough to discuss such matters in a public setting, I'm not going to be a hypocrite or bullshit you by pretending I care about you personally, but I'm glad you didn't take the pussy route and gave in to your problems, but instead fought against them and overcame them.

I had a whole speech that speaks of own experience with depression and some advice and pointers planned, but I honestly couldn't be bothered enough to type it out, so I'll just leave this as is. - As for you @Wess, learn to not get triggered so easily, it doesn't help whatsoever and you get yourself angry over someone speaking their mind on the internet, think it over before one day a blood vessel pops because you couldn't let some snarky comment go.

Side note, perhaps instead of giving an American exclusive suicide prevention hotline, you should have linked an international directory for suicide prevention hotlines, respective to different countries, seeing as this is an international community consisting of members spread out across the planet. -
