DevBest Habbo Community is that everyone is asking for money for hotel setups, graphics etc. Why the fuck would you pay for that?
I make Flab Hotel server myself!

The only problem is that no ones bothering to FUCKING learn something, in the end they ask for other's help. Simple things like installing XAMPP also need a ting guide.
LEARN man...

I think habbo retros in general are going down hill, notice thati the newer retros never stay open for over 3 months? Fresh hotel and habboon are basically the only ones who dedicated this.
I agree with you, hotels are dying lately, people killed the excitement out of retros. All the good and fun hotels have died by Sulake or personal things. I think people should start helping out the "noobs" and bring back the fun in playing retros, or sooner or later the retros community will fall.

Leave a like if you agree.

people won't help because their greedy. They want money. Cash in their empty PayPal pockets. Don't get me wrong but some people do help out on DevBest but most, money grabbing literally.

The noobs need to take a bit more initiative and be willing to learn than asking for spoon fed replies. I learned how to do everything I know either A by trial and error or B going through previous threads made, and learning from there. Practically every possible error you'll encounter with retros has been answered and the noobs who keep asking via new threads are the ones not trying. However, the community is dieing because people cannot create hotels as easily as it was around 2010-2011 with Phoenix and a quick config file since projects in the new R63B phase complicate things just a bit. Oh, and money greedy cunts

Retros will end up caving in but not anytime soon. Some foreign hotels are bigger than Fresh, but on DevBest pretty much half of the users on regularly play retros.

retros dying :(
Yeah, Owen has a point people are greedy.
Greedy or not, it's their knowledge and skills, it's their product, thus they choose whether or not to profit from it. -- Don't let this reply fool you, I am absolutely against paid software.

Maybe if people actually contributed to the habbo section as developers instead of being spoonfed, We'd get somewhere.
It's not hard to accomplish what these big hotels have if you're focused.

You're not going to expect someone to keep releasing everything they have for you to download for these reasons...
  • 2/3 of the Habbo section rename work without actually giving back to its public repository or the improving software itself.
  • You don't know what the fuck you're doing, and you're ignorant about learning if your teacher's name isn't Sledmore (Lets be real here).
  • You don't even give feedback, you just download, and if you do give feedback for the first time ... best believe its not constructive.
  • You chase new developers away with your snotty redundant hate comments.
  • You use big words without even knowing what they mean.
  • You overestimate yourself and your authority on this forum without ever actually releasing anything.
For the actual developers...
  • You receive a little bit of praise and you take it to your head, you're a new person... a new jackass.
  • You overestimate your abilities which lead to failed/abandoned developments.
  • You're lazy as fuck which leads to failed/abandoned developments.
  • You form or join this branch of developers (I'd like to call it the Illuminati... but we're just Habbotards), Its exclusive, therefore you exclude other people out until they prove their worth to you.
  • You are in denial about the fact that your once nice/helping friends put down other people/developers.
  • You learn as much as you can, but never teach a soul. (You're stingy as fuck).
  • You get money hungry easily. You forget the fact that this is a hobby, not a job.
And when I mentioned this little exclusive group of developers, I don't just mean one group in particular, but a variety of them.
This community will continue to die if our members don't take off their baby shoes and learn how to use a spoon, and if these habbotarded developers don't grow the fuck up and realize that we're not competing with each other. (I've come to realize this mindset was probably influenced by the owners)

Its not Habbo Retro Developer vs. Habbo Retro Developer, more like Habbo Retro Developers vs. Habbo Hotel.

Hi, we grew up. Point in time when this kind of stuff grows out on ya(the actual game, not programming itself). There was also a point in time where i'd like to call it the "re-edit" era, when everyone thought they were coders by adding a dance function to someone else's work and calling it their own. <-- Seeing this stuff constantly gets tiring and irritating, so i guess development halted a bit. Sometimes it's best to leave things as simple as possible :p.

In terms of English speaking hotels, people are too stuck up. This forum isn't exactly booming with activity anymore, neither is any other really. Releases are kind of dead and/or minor. Plus everyone that's starting new retros and even the people on Boon and Fresh more so feel entitled to so much it's a total turn off for people who've been around a bit longer. Hostility is so common now its lame as hell. Retros won't die anytime soon though, few more years left probably but I doubt that any retro will get any better then it is right now its like a standstill right now for retros as a whole haha.

Yes. This is true of the entire retro community. When I first got into the scene, it was like a damn renaissance: development and new releases were booming. There was competition between various emulators, and there was a constant desire to replicate Habbo in its entirety (v26 to R63). I think Project Rev was the last major development in the community that had any sort of excitement surrounding it. The people who had passion developing for the retro scene grew older, went to college, and are undoubtedly working on better things. Habbo itself has seen a massive drop in users. While I've been out of the scene for a while, and also inactive in the community, I don't think the retro scene is attractive enough for anyone to join. With that being said, personally, I will always appreciate what retros have done for me, as they led to me writing my first line of code and sparked an interest in computer science that wouldn't exist without them.

I think we all know it is dying but if habbo goes back to the old user interface and such they will have way more people on the hotel because right now the hotel is really laggy and boring and the cms just makes me cringe by just looking at it.
